Casuarina, commonly known as she-oak, Australian pine and native pine, is native to Australia, the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, islands of the western Pacific Ocean, and eastern Africa.
The timber is an exceptionally hard, dense and durable, known for its prominent, decorative grain. It is widely valued for high-quality, wood-turning, small cabinetwork, parquetry, and formerly for fencing and roofing shingles, and slow-burning firewood.
The timber for these came from a fallen branch as a result of a storm.
