Robinia is native to the eastern United States, but has been grown and used in many countries in landscaping and to stop soil erosion. The wood is extremely hard, it is very resistant to rot, and durable, making it prized for furniture, flooring, paneling, fence posts, and small watercraft.
Also highly valued as firewood for wood-burning stoves; it burns slowly, with little visible flame or smoke, and has a higher heat content than many other species.
With a light yellowish color and strength, the wood was much used for decorative inlays and banding in furniture in England and France in the 17th and 18th centuries, under the name "acacia" or "Virginia acacia".
#1 Sleek styling and gentle curves make this a comfortable pen to hold and use. And the aluminium hardware works nicely with the lighter shades in the timber.
