PENS, PENCILS - Norfolk Pine (Araucaria heterophylla)

Learn about this timber

This tree is endemic to Norfolk Island, about 1440km east of Sydney, but is cultivated elsewhere as an ornamental. It is very common on the east coast of Australia. The timber is easy to work and is good for woodturning. The colour is pale and regular.

These pens were made from the large tree that had to be removed from our front yard because its roots were breaking the concrete driveway and house foundations.
